Intervention Coaching
Intervention coaching is designed to alter the direction in which people or events are going. The intervention may address personal habits that are interfering with a manager’s full success; or it may focus on the development of new awareness’s, new practices, and new points of view that offer new or alternative actions and behaviors for the person being coached.
Intervention coaching used to be thought of as necessary for “problem” executives, or people with “bad people skills”, etc. Today that viewpoint is giving way to realizing that almost every business leader has areas in which they are strong and areas that need development. Having weaknesses isn’t “bad”, it’s human. After all it’s only a weakness by comparison with a standard, and standards change. And the pace of changing standards has never been greater. Blink and you could find yourself out of step with the latest cultural expectation.
Interventional coaching expands habitual constraints and borders to mentor new awareness’s and skills for those being coached.
