Cross-Cultural Coaching
Cross cultural coaching focuses on two arenas of coaching for individuals and often for groups: 1) the understanding and mixing, blending, synergizing, and producing when working in differing or disparate corporate cultures, and/or 2) understanding, and mixing, blending, synergizing, and producing when working in differing ethic or social cultures.
In today’s global economy both phenomenon are more common than ever and individuals are under more pressure to succeed. But no matter the financial and business imperatives and incentives, people are people and each of us sees the world through our particular cultural filters and prejudices.
How do you take and make productive a global, cross functional team of people from Europe, the U.S. and Japan for instance? What habits, expectations and mores bubble up to impede the kind of harmony and collaboration needed for success? What lives in the unsaid definitions of “the way things are done around here” , or “the way they are”, or “the way they are not” that restrict or retard real success and productivity?
Cross cultural coaching seeks to reveal those hidden currents and missing awareness to provide new understanding, compassion and alignment of purpose in these ever increasing mixed culture work scenarios.
