How information is structured, presented, received and put into practice will ultimately determine the return of the training investment. Distinctions works with existing human resource and training departments to improve deliver methods, implement experiential training methodolgies and integrate customized programs with off-the shelf modules to provide a coherent corporate curriculum.
Humans have their our own perspectives and unwritten rules about the way they do things—and so do organizations. These rules - paradigms, perceptions, beliefs - are transparent. They unconsciously exist in the background - much like air for a bird. Birds don't see the air that lifts them. They are totally immersed in it. It is in their background and it is not distinct.
We do things we are not aware of and these so called habits can - have a limiting effect on our personal effectiveness. Our perceptions and beliefs may be so deeply rooted, so unquestioned, that they become barriers to our ability to see new possibilities and opportunities. The traditional way of doing something may seem like the only way and this can leave us blinded to new ideas, opportunities and solutions.
If corprations want to change human behavior to grow past the familiar, the habitual, the rouitne, to grow new competencies and devlope new ways of thinking about, organizing, and managing commitments, actions and results they need to go beyond their own traditions when designing their university curriculums. DI designs curriculums to provide training programs that energize participants and significantly impact their capacity and ability to manage, perform, and lead. Our curriculums bring about a fundamental shifts in what people see as possible. Participants are encouraged to identify entrenched behaviors, old habits, and unexamined assumptions, so they can adopt new perspectives – giving them the ability to see, act, and relate in new ways, by stepping outside of their comfortable habits and perspectives.
